Anyone hunting down near Pine Barren Creek with these warmer temps needs to keep an eye out for alligators. I saw two that were both well over 10' cruising the timber on that place. Lots of deer and pigs just about anywhere on the tract. It's very diverse terrain so depending on your hunt unit you could be in a bottomland hardwood flat or in prairie uplands. There was some active cattle pasture when Forever Wild purchased this place, I'm curious what the state will do with those areas. Yep I almost stepped on a 6 footer walking to a ladder stand one time . It dove off into what looked to be a mud hole (at first glance) and disappeared. Whole bunch of cane cutters there year round.

What is the penalty for shooting one that doesn’t meet the requirements of a legal buck on certain SOA hunts?
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

Peach, with which member did you hunt at the Hit n Miss in the ‘70s? My Grandfather was a founding member until the club lost the lease in roughly 1990.
