I remember a meteor shower on opening weekend. If l had to guess, 18 years ago was about right. Hunted in an area that had very little light pollution. Guessing it was the same weekend.

About ten years ago i was doing some scouting and I found this little trail that cut back into the hardwoods.I followed it for about 50 yards and it got real narrow and finally at the end was a concrete gremlin looking statue.My first thought was this is some type of messed up santanical ritual bs i turned around and eased out...Still think about that and wonder what exactly the hell was going on.

This was in Alton IL. I was up there to visit my Aunts, the Mississippi was mostly frozen over as it was the middle of winter (no it wasn't frozen solid) anyway there were big holes in the ice in spots, some of them were 20'-40' round, there would be 5 or 6 Bald Eagles sitting on the edge looking at the water with a couple flying up above the hole, all I can figure is the ones sitting on the ice were resting and waiting on their turn to catch a fish..

It was a beautiful thing to see!!!!

Was on the warrior river last Halloween morning helping a friend do a tree job. About 9am that morning i heard this commotion in the water at the same time i turned to my right and within about 20ft of myself there was an eagle diving down hittiing the top of the river. I didn't believe my eyes as I'd never seen a eagle this close to my house(about 15 minutes away on I22) let alone that close to me in the wild. The homeowner asked"was that an eagle?" I told him i do believe so. Then about 10yrds down river a duck came resurfacing. Then wouldn't you know it here comes the eagle again and again which visually verified it was an eagle cause that 1st incident happened so fast.This went on for 4/5 times. The duck to my knowledge survived the incident as they both eventually got out of sight around the bend. Homeowner had lived there several years prior and had never seen anything like it. Actually only heard rumors about a pair of eagles nesting on the bluff a few 100 yards downstream but had never seen them. Went back to do another tree job for the homeowner this summer and I'd asked him if he had seen the eagles anymore but he said no. It was an amazing sight to see. Dang big bird that can put a hurting on something. Seeing one in the wild doing what they do was awesome. Just glad he had the duck on the menu and not my head.

Got to watch a Bald Eagle catch a fish last year, amazing sight. Nothing like an Osprey. Stepped on A rattlesnake one time cruising timber and do not know HOW I was not struck. Was getting out of my truck once to cruise a track that was over a fence next to a hay field. Got all my gear on and walked in front of my truck and that is when a spotted fawn jumped up and ran away. The wheel was about two feet from running over it when I stopped. Just for the record, I did not soil myself but my heart stopped I know for 10-20 seconds. LOL.

You can't tell it to look at me now but I was a runner. I was running one day saw a dead body floating in the Potomac River. Many moons ago I seen a fellow get run over by a farm tractor(rear tire) and live. I dug a feller out of a combine once he lived. I seen my best friend get caught up in a post hole digger he lived.

I was hunting once down in Chilton County and saw this.....

I saw Auburn win a National Championship one time. And I once saw FSU win a football game in person.

Driving to Homer Alaska and started passing eagles in trees. As I continued down the road the population of eagles went from 1-2 a tree to like 10-20 a tree. It was opening day of halibut season and they were cleaning fish.. I took a picture along the beach and it looked like a scene from the movie The Birds.

Many years ago me and a buddy were gonna get rich selling cans. Folks had just started to buy them for scrap. We would get up early Sunday mornings and ride around and drink beer and pick up cans. Well one morning we were up on Green Mountain, located near south Huntsville. We had pulled to the end of a dead end road to take a leak and grab a fresh beer. As was washing off a tree I looked over and there was a man in full camo, face painted with an M-16 leaning up against a tree. Only 10 yards away. I kinda got my friends attention to ask if I was seeing things, then I noticed another fellow and yet a third. We pretended we disn't see them, eased back into the truck and backed a good ways and turned around and got the hell out of there.

Come to find out the National Guard was doing some training up that way and had set up a communications site up above Huntsville Speedway.

I used to like to ride around the lake and look for “easy to hunt” ducks in sloughs close to the road. Had some bluewing teal pegged. They were there every morning. Then I pulled in there and they weren’t. While I was watching through binoculars, a teal came by with the afterburners kicked in. A bald eagle was chasing. It didn’t catch while I was watching and I don’t think it could. It was cool to see.
I watched a spotted fawn nurse opening week of gun season last year.

October 1996, Concordia Parish, La. I sat in my climber bow hunting one afternoon and saw a big cat with a long tail walking back and forth on a single limb in a huge oak tree. I watched it for over an hour from about 60 yards. I don’t know that it was or wasn’t a panther (or whatever y’all want to call them) but till the day I die, I’ll certainly believe it was.

I also saw a man jump out of his climber from 2’ off the ground and somehow end up doing a belly flop and take off in a dead sprint for 50 yards before he stopped. And to this day, I still don’t know what he thought was after him or what he was running from.

Saw about a 70 lb spike fall out of a tree with its azz end eaten off... at night. That was fun.

Come on 87! You know yotes don't climb trees. Are you saying a bobcat did that? Housecat? Sounds more like a black painter!

Is this a Chilton Chupacabra?

Had a osprey hit the water about 2 feet from me while fishing off the bank at chickamauga dam last year. Never heard him coming until it sounded like a rifle shot next to me. Scared the crap out of me. He missed also whatever he was after

Never saw what drug it up the tree. I assume whatever it was jumped out as the deer came crashing down. I don't believe black bears take their kills up trees and believe painters hide/burry their kills. To this day not sure what it was. Was on the pea river in Elba, Al.
