Yep CMP is real nice. Or just north of Attala.

Look up Brock's Gap. They have lots of different style you can shoot on the weekends without being a member. You can also get a membership to the range (there is a waiting list). Very nice and safe place. I'm a member if you'd like to go check it out one day let me know. They are open to the public on the weekend for the matches fees and stuff may apply for the match you chose to shoot. They have stuff from .22 sniper up to the long range stuff out to 720y. and all the different pistol stuff. Just check out there website.

Thanks for the information. I moved here from Texas 2 years ago and still have not found a range. I am in a club close to Vance, but would like to go shooting.

Just depends on what you are looking for. CMP is awsome but you do have to pay. The place above Attalla is free but you do have to at least have a Wildlife Heratage or hunting or fishing liscense. CMP has the automatic targets so you never have anybody walking down range. Worst part about it is they usually have something on the counter in the shop there just calling my name. I resisted last time. A Garand in .308 may just come home with me one day.

You should try out Warrior Ranch in Brookwood. Shouldn’t be too far from where you hunt in Vance. They have steel targets out to 520 yds with plans to have steel targets out to 600 yds. Price is reasonable and people running it are top notch.
