I don't disagree Skinny...but what McVeigh got was a slow version of what he deserved...just like anyone who wants to kill innocent Americans. Booth on the other hand got swifter justice. Either way...openly admit that you want to hurt/kill innocent Americans, and you do not deserve fair treatment...end of story.

Booth did what our country is doing. He assasinated an American citizen he saw as a traitor to his own country without a trial.

Suppose a drug dealer wanted in Mexico for killing his own people there is located in Huntsville. Does Mexico have the right to come to Huntsville and assasinate the guy?

If what you said is the case, the question is...do I mind? No.

We can play the what if's all we want, but this guy needed to be taken out...end of story.

The key here 49er is that we both have a different opinion on this. I respect your thinking...will only ask the same of you as neither of us have the complete answer.

You sound like a bunch of tree hugging liberals. The SOB was a terroist, he recurited terroists. You know, the people killing our soldiers and chomping at the bit to kill Americans here. This line of thinking is why our military's got damn hands are so tied up now, this exact line of thinking.

It's never the end of the story when our government abuses it's authority. It always continues to get worse until it's too late to do anything to stop it.

Ron Paul's supporters are largely military personnel on active duty.

Quote:
Ron Paul is not only currently the only candidate running for president who is a military veteranhe is also the candidate most popular with the military. Reports USA Today:

GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul consistently has said that the United States should get out of Afghanistan and Iraq and that American military bases around the world should be closed. In this campaign, Paul is getting more donations from people who work for the military than either President Obama or any of the other Republican presidential candidates.

The size of our debt continues to call into question Americas habit of trying to be the worlds policeman. Paul has been asking this question longer and louder than virtually anyone.

If it is the soldiers job to do his duty, it is the citizens job to question whether their government is putting Americas best and bravest in harms way for good reason. Sadly, too often we give the same government we rightly criticize domestically the benefit of the doubt when it comes to our actions abroad.

Theres a world of difference between national defense and an irrational offense and it is Americas soldiers who understand the hardship of war the most. Its no surprise that they also continue to cheer the one candidate who has always represented their interests the best.

Did we abuse our authority to end WWII or did we do justice for a better world?

Did our government abuse it's authority to end WWII, or was it a constitutionally declared war that was fought all out to be won?

Do you think libertarians the only Americans who expect politicians to put into practice what our Constitutions call for?

Ron Paul, ACLU condemn Anwar al-Awlaki killing

When Ron Paul and ACLU are in the same heading, you know he has strayed done the wrong path.

For you guys crying over the constitution, what would you have done differently?

Who's crying?

Supporting and defending our constitution is an oath that every member of our armed forces takes. Every president, senator, member of the House, and every bureaucratic leader and office holder in our government takes the same oath.

What's your problem with our Constitution? Are you a terrorist traitor to your own country that needs to be assassinated without a trial?

Let's see here... doesn't like our Constitution and states it on a public forum. Put him on the list guys.

I honestly started this to show Paul as the pacifist he is and I know for a fact he wont be elected but I'm struggeling with the constitutionality of this now.

No, that is not saying nothing. The Constitution is all that we got to potentially save us from the Obama Gestapo Healthcare bill, it also gives you the right to have all the guns you want, to say what you want when you want, and the Constitution also tells us how we can avoid expensive Foreign entanglements. The Constitution is a short and clear document. It provides the Freedoms we have today and whenever our Government does something that whittles away at the Constitution then that puts us a step closer to being another dictatorship like those asshats.
Sticking to that pesky Constitution is what makes us United States Americans.

While I agree he should have been killed, they just should have kept it quiet and not been made public. We don't have to brag on doing the right thing.

Now on another note I can completely see Skinnys point, what if they come tommorrow for our guns. It's a fine line we are walikng.

McVeigh got a fair trail...time has spent and some will argue but so did Booth. What about this guy? The feelings about this may be different, however those two guys got the protection of the Constitution. They got the same Protection that allows you to say "You're Wrong!". Try saying that in Iran.

John Wilkes Booth did not receive a trial. Booth was shot by self-castrated religious fanatic, Boston Corbett, against orders, in the Garret farm's burning barn.
