Whoever is in charge of updating the ALDeer Ban List, get to work...

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/sep/4/levi-strauss-launches-gun-control-initiative-we-si/

“We can’t take on every issue. But as business leaders with power in the public and political arenas, we simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to the issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work,” he wrote. “While taking a stand can be unpopular with some, doing nothing is no longer an option. That’s why Levi Strauss & Co. is stepping up our support for gun violence prevention.”

Mr. Bergh said the company is stepping up its gun-control activism in three areas: First, by creating the Safer Tomorrow Fund, which will direct more than $1 million in philanthropic grants to boosting gun-control groups; Second, by partnering with Everytown for Gun Safety and Michael Bloomberg to form Everytown Business Leaders for Gun Safety; And third, by doubling the company’s usual employee donation match to organizations aligned with the new Safer Tomorrow Fund.

The company will also pay employees for their political activism, for up to five hours a month."

Truth be told, Levi's was already on the Gomer Ban List when a pair of plain 'ol Levi 5-pocket jeans became $70...

Levi Strauss is based in San Francisco. Not surprised.

I'll keep wearing Wranglers. They're available at every Walmarks for the same price anywhere in the country.

I hate the phrase "gun control."

It is a loaded phrase, an emotional buzz word, and it is full of propaganda, assumptions, ignorance and political agenda.

Fact is the USA has hundreds of gun control laws.
Hundreds.
And perhaps thousands of regulations.

We have a serious problem with the enforcement of "gun control" laws that are already on the books.
Especially the laws that prohibit mentally ill lunatics from possessing firearms.

Even that recent Jacksonville gamer shooter was a mentally ill nut job. And he was sold a handgun in violation of law.

because nothing screams 'Merica like being based in Dearborn Michigan, the Islamic capital of America. Also make their clothes in China and Mexico.

(I love Carhartt, just pointing out that we can find something to ban almost every company over)

Levi Strauss is probably the most liberal company in America...bar none.

Apple is top 3.

Disney, Apple, and Amazon probably round out the top 5...if not, certainly top 10.

Starbucks is in there somewhere, too.

And here I thought LS was "just a Jean's company"......I don't understand why so many companies are so quick to get political. From a purely business standpoint, it is rarely a profitable move, potentially alienating a large portion of your potential customer base.

I admit that I do enjoy a Starbucks latte on occasion. My best friend is sales director for a company that makes several of the pre-made sandwiches Starbucks sells. Their company is actually their biggest single supplier in terms of money volume.
