I'm still not figuring this place out like I should be...... Anyone fish down there?

Stick to the main river and not worry about the back waters? I think that's what McClelland did when he won the open down there.

we've usually have good luck down there. but we make a long run. we like to fish about 30 minutes south. try throwing lipless crankbaits at the mouths of creeks or topwater early. don't be afraid to get real shallow, especially where there's current.

weve always flipped the main river logs, weeds and cuts with white jigs and watermelon brush hogs with pretty good luck. Topwater bite for me has always been best down there on a topwater lizard for some reason. The coves and creeks get shallow but as someone said dont be afraid to get shallow. When it turns real slow later on we have had decent luck with mouths of pockets on downsized finesse rigs.
