Like most of y’all I turkey hunt some tough terrain and every pair of “turkey pants” I’ve ever worn is a rip waiting to happen. I’ve been routinely tore up cutting through a patch of briars to get to a bird. Not to mention most of the camo pants I’ve bought to turkey hunt fade after you wash them once or twice. So to my point, I am debating buying some upland briar pants in khaki and brown, or I’ve seen some in olive green. Have any of y’all done this? Do you think the pants would be too hot? Most, if not all the pants like this are not camo so that is a draw back as well. I’m just tired of buying crap that has to be replaced every year.

Prolly gonna be hot but so are the snake boots I wear, when it gets warm I sweat in the thinnest pair of pants I have so not that big a deal to me. I don’t think them not being Camo is gonna be that big a deal so don’t let that stop you if you wanna try em and it ticks me off how poor everything is made these days as far as the stuff fading after a couple washes

Mossy oak's cotton stuff is pretty horrible quality. Obviously they need to make a buck and it certainly shows. I like their patterns but their quality control is like a loose cannon.

There’s no longer any cotton in my turkey gear, and a fella with save big money over the years to buy stuff that doesn’t fade.

I agree.
So what do you wear?
All treklite type material when the weather gets right. On the cold early season mornings, I have a pullover that that doesn’t fade, and it goes over warmer layers. My legs don’t get cold - so never more than one warm layer under pants. I don’t have a problem with stuff ripping too awful bad.

I have swveral pairs of wrangler briar pants.....alabama=a big negative on the briar pants...now south texas id wear them and a kevlar jump suit

If the not being camo is an issue just buy a pair of those leafy bottom pants. The ones I’ve seen are nothing more than netting with leafy material. Can roll up and put in your vest and throw it on when setting up. If you have time.

Dan's Hunting Gear sells camo briar bibs, if that helps. I have a pair of Dan's Brown bibs I chase squirrel dogs in. They are indestructible.

I never tear my pants while turkey hunting and I wear the thin stuff. I usually check my golf cart for snags before I head out to run and gun with my box call. If I hear one gobble I just hop off and sit in right front of the golf cart. He comes right to me and I shoot him at 20 steps. Don't know why anyone would walk in briars. I
