Wish I had a nice shooting house sitting over a clear cut. Guess I could go walk a couple of clear cuts at the club.

Might be hard to shoot clear cut with the wind? I try not to shoot past 200, so it don't effect me to much.

What's the perfect setup for this weather?

watch the pipeline up behind the house from the dining room.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

My wife says, every year I bitch about it being too warm during deer season, and she says now I'm whining cause it's too cold.

That's the am plan. Then you get out about midday. After it gets dark go back to the am plan.

I walk a cutover between 11-3:30 and get a vantage point looking into the wind to a Southern hillside ....... Make myself visable for about 10 minutes and then CLAP REAL LOUD ABOUT 6 TIMES and WAIT another 5 mins CLAP again and if nothing gets up move to another simiilar spot...... They will let you walk right by them as they are bedded in the sun protected from the wind. Sometimes they get nervous and just stand up. Sometimes they just bolt. This is how I killed my last 3 rack bucks on days just like today in the TNF. 2 eights and a 6 in velvet.

Corn pile works best for most folks in that scenario.

Why not just walk the cutover out and make sure they get up?

Had a feller tell me the best way to walk a clearcut was in a pair of a**less chaps. He said it'll get them up every time.

I'm too old to get off the ridges to walk a clearcut..... Clapping works or I'm going home..... I wear an orange hat and and I have been " BUZZED " many times from the boys out of Maxwell spotting targets at treetop level .... THAT will WAKE you up.......
