Only thing I've ever found was a working moonshine still and another time found two cars down a dead end dirt road with a man and woman on the trunk going at it.

Today? Damnation that would be cold to slip on those snotrocks and get wet today. I'm all about playing in creeks but jeepers.

On the other hand, if the fish are biting ...

His son could cast from his backyard and get it in the creek, so if he fell it wouldn't take too long to get warm. The casting will be even easier after jmudler builds that workshop, just stand on the roof and chunk it! rofl

That's better than what I found at work a few years ago. I drove down a secluded powerline ROW and found two DUDES going at it.
You can't never un-see something like that!

I read a story in a hunting magazine when I was 15 about a man who lost his rifle on a deer getting up and running off. That story made me take extra percaution when walking up to "dead" deer.

I found a S&W .38 on the side of the road in Auburn a few years ago. I did find a dead democrat in the woods once though.

I found an old rusted up lever action rifle with only a piece of the stock and no forearm laying beside a big old oak tree on TVA (Murphy Hill) one time. I couldn't tell what kind or caliber it was. I didn't want to tote it around because I was slipping around on a wet woods day. I did plan to stop back through and pick it up on the way back out, but my buddy called me on the radio and had killed a spike and I never went back through that spot. That was about 20-25 years ago and unless someone found it again before the leaves fell the next year, I'd bet it's still there.

Never found a gun but I found a horseshoe after we pushed and disced for a new greenfield. I'd love to know how old it is.

I buzzed up a single barrel 12ga while hunting a property corner. It would not break open, so I just left it.

Take your kids hunting instead of hunting your kids.

I'd rather be LOST in the woods than FOUND in the city.

My step dads family owned some land they leased out when I was a kid. We went up there one time and parked at the road and walked to up to the camp because the roads were in bad shape. Found a Buck fixed blade knife still in the box. Asked all the hunters there and none of them had lost it so I keep it for years. I traded it for a radio for my truck when I was a teenager.
A former boss of mine got big into duck hunting one year and bought a brand new camouflage Benelli shotgun. They was leaving from hunting and he leaned it against a tree to load up his gear in the boat and forgot about it. Came home and realized he had left it. When back and could never find it.
