I received a Smoke Hollow electric smoker for Christmas. I have been thoroughly cleaning it after every use and that is getting old very quickly. I don't think we have every cleaned our charcoal smokers other than scraping the grates. How often is everyone cleaning their electric smoker?

I don't. Clean the grates, empty out the grease and water pans and clean them, but leave the seasoning in the smoker cabinet. Between uses, leave the cabinet door slightly ajar, or you'll grow a big ol' crop of mold in it.

I take all the parts out and hit them with the pressure washer, wipe inside with paper towels, put it back together and run it on higest setting for a couple hours. Works great and doesn't take much time. Don't let it just sit too long after a cook, especially in warm weather. You'll get flies in it and that is a real mess.

Wish I'd known how to care for mine. Ended up throwing it out. Man it was easy to smoke some vittles in that thing. Ended up with mold and the exterior control panel fell apart too.
