Some friends and I are planning a fishing trip to Gulf Shores, Orange Beach area in May and I am looking for advise on who to go with, or not to go with. Just an all day trip w/ some beer drinking and alot of fishing for about 8 people. Thanks.

Sea Hunter, Sea Reaper, Rookie I or II, C Rose, Miss Celeste (huge boat and $) Summer Breeze II. Do NOT use the "Sure Shot".

Gunsmoke, where is the sea reaper docked now? Do you know who the owner is? I went out on the reaper for about 10 years in a row back in the 80's-90's. It was at griffith's marina which is now fenced off looks like its gonna be a subdivision kinda thing. I would really like to know if its the same owner as when I went out before. I had some great times on that boat and would like to use them again in the future.

I think the Sea Reaper from those years is retired. The one now is out of Orange Beach Marina. It might be semi private and only fish tournaments. I'll check next week. I forgot about the Lady D. I left off the Necessity, but you probably cant get a book on that boat this year anyway. I'd try the Sea Hunter first if you want to fish 8 comfortably. You might have to go on a week day though.

just google "orange beach charter boat association". I dont know all of them, but if you have any questions, pm me or post back here. I've been around those guys along time, they are mostly good to great, but you get some that are even so stupid they dont believe bad word spreads on the internet (or VHF for that matter).

Went out on Island Girl last year and had a good time. They are out of Zeke's marina in Orange Beach.
