Smith. Stroke a spook right now for some fun and a potentially massive stripe I hope it changed since Saturday. Topwater bite has sucked lately. Few on a buzz bait but that was about it probably a little better now after these few cold nights

Go to the tailrace at Smith Lake dam. Use red worms. Small tackle with 10lb or smaller line although 12 will work. Tiny hooks, 8 or 10 size and one split shot of the smallest size you can find.
Sit on the bench in the middle and prop your rod over the edge of the rail and drop straight down. Watch the bait (yes, you'll be able to see it) and set the hook when you have one on.
You will catch rainbow trout over a pound all day if the water is not running. If they stop biting, throw a few worms in the water near your bait one at a time and they will crank right back up.

Smith is a topwater lake year round depending on time of day, cloud cover, and water clarity. Just gotta be willing to throw a spook in 60-100ft of water sometimes.
