Y’all might remember me posting awhile back that my 4-wheeler wouldn’t start. It was a mouse chewed a wire as everyone suspected.
My mechanic found and fixed it and he recommended putting a little peppermint oil on the machine. Said the mice don’t like it.
Does this really work?

Hey, don't laugh. Essential oils do have some benefit.

My wife is all into that hippie tree hunging crap. Peppermint oil does calm an upset stomach though.

I agree that it has benefit! I just always laugh that the answer is always peppermint oil. Or thieves.

But yes I have had it help with headaches and such

Wife has got a diffuser (?) and puts on some essential oils every evening after supper.
I read this thread and said “Hey, baby, put us on some essential oils.” It smells great.
When I told her I needed some peppermint oil, she said “I’ve got some.”

No way. If your drug pusher, I mean doctor, doesn't prescribe it, and it doesn't have side effects like anal leakage, heart palpitations and possible death, then there isn't any way it could help. God wouldn't want to infringe on big pharma.

P.S. I think I got a whole weeks worth of sarcasm into this one post. Feels good.

Back to the OP.

Does peppermint oil work for mice? I have some in the camp house kitchen that glue traps wont get. We keep the food put away and everything clean, but they are nesting in the cabinets and drawers. I can clean them out this weekend and next weekend they are back...

Nasty as crap.

I am hesitant to put out poison because sometimes my dog comes with me. I have considered tossing poison under the house, it has a closed in foundation so the dog could not get under there but would rather have something that will keep them out.

If you choose to put poison out under the house, even though it is enclosed and the dog cannot get under there, choose one that is only toxic to the first generation. What I mean by that is that some poisons have a second generation toxicity meaning that if your dog or any other animal ate a mouse poisoned by it, then they would be poisoned as well.
