After reading the taxidermist thread I reminisced about prior aldeer outlaws. How many poachers were caught or called out on Aldeer?
I can recall Timber2 and the guy that shot the big buck around the oak grove/ hueytown mine. Did rob gillespie get in trouble for poaching those big bucks? I know he got in trouble on the big G.

Don't know what made him an outlaw, but he couldn't get the deer in the floorboard of his side by side. I think. May be confused with someone else.

Don't remember a lot, but I remember he was a crossbow freak who liked to join clubs and if things didn't go his way he killed everything that walked and got out of the club.

There was one youngster bragging about all the turkeys he would kill (multiple season limits) on his daddy's place (Somewhere west of Tuscaloosa, as I recall.) One of the GWs on the site lurked long enough to figure out who he was, posted that he'd be visiting during the season and called him by name. That was the last we heard from him. 6-8 years ago, probably.

I don't remember the turkey guy, I'd like to read that story but I wouldn't know where to start searching.

The long 30page call out threads are awesome!

The biggest outlaws, the ones that were real criminals were the father and son who always advertised their club and also used it as a pay hunt place only they didn't lease or own all the land they hunted. The father had some drug cases in the past but then went to prison because he had a shootout with two game wardens. I can't remember his name.

What about the AlDeer member posting the pics of the turkeys him and his father killed in Georgia opening weekend. Come to find out it was only youth weekend.

I think that was more of an honest mistake, not intentionally trying to hunt early? Just didn't pay close enough attention to dates?

Yeah, but was a pretty bad mistake. Can you imagine the "Oh chit!!!" moment when he opened that thread back up to see all of that. grin

The father son guy was around Eufaula. His excuse was he was a disabled vet. One member joined, and was screwed over. The advertised a large block of land, but members could only hunt part of it. The father and son hunted the rest. Yeah, he went to prison. Lucky he didn't end up in the morgue.

Wasn't an outlaw but there was XGW that broke a game law and then wrote himself a ticket.

What about member that supposedly stole some stuff from a club house camp and was kicked out. Seems like I recall the club president coming on here and calling him out on it. He used to post a lot, but haven't seen him on here since then.

That's extremely honest.

I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. Theres a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts. Ronald Reagan

Spoiler

He stole money from the club along with a long list of other issues over the years. The list is long.
