Thinking about buying a 1987 Chevy K10. I found one that could use a paint job but no rust. Good interior and the old 350 has been replaced with an 06 5.3 and a new tranny. New A/C, power steering, radiator and hose, new drive shaft, etc.
Anybody ever owned one?

I don't own a K10 but I own a K5 Blazer that I've really enjoyed.
I would like to LS swap it eventually.
What is the K10 going for?

It's listed at $12,500. I know my way around a truck, but pretend I�m ignorant�what is the benefit of the LS swap? I�m guessing it have more power. Better gas mileage? Not that anyone is buying an 80s model truck and worrying about gas mileage�I�m just curios.

I would like to put a ls in my c10. For two reasons
1. Reliability
2. Performance. I can turn more hp out of ls and still say mpg rather than gpm.
Not to mention if you want power steering or a/c you won't loose as much.
But at the same time you tbi kit that will bolt to your intake and get almost the same gains.

LS swap is the ticket. I would pay attention to how its wired.. Is it a stand alone system or a cut down, factory harness with flashed ECM?

I've got an 84 that you should come look at.
New engine not an ls but well built brand new roller motor
trans, Window motors regulators tires bumpers winch hood exhaust
Real nice truck. It belongs to a customer you could probably get a good deal on it.
Ls is where it's at done right no doubt but a good well built roller motor is no joke either

From what I've understood of carbed VS LS, the LS will be more reliable, more responsive to upgrades and better fuel mileage.
Not to say a carbed motor can't be the above but there is a reason modern vehicles don't have carbed motors.
