I was up at our hunting club last Saturday and am questioning all my knowledge of White Oaks. We had a very large crop last year and it looks like the trees are covered up yet again. Has anyone seen this or is my understanding of akerns just wrong?

I was sure this would be a bust year since last year was boon. Who knows?

Lots of good rain. I'd think even if they alternated years, they wouldn't all be on the same cycle.

That's a good point. It just seemed like every white oak we had was dropping a bumper crop last year.

I'm fine with us being loaded this year. I just wasn't expecting it due to how loaded we were last year. We were thinking of really beefing up our plots in preparation for the low yield. Still will but at least it'll be a little cheaper.

Looking like another good crop of acorns where I'm at, along with "possum grapes" and persimmons.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
