That's where the folks from Slapout go to school. Don't know about now but it was just good ol country folks 30 years ago.

Redneck Central? Hey..... I resemble that remark! I am a proud graduate of Holtville High class of 83 and now have a niece that teaches math there. Best public school around the area in my opinion and a lot of other folks around here.
Cole, I started out at Hood U (Wetumpka), and ended up at Redneck Central (Holtville). I hope my grandkids can move into the Holtville district to go to school. They are currently in the Stanhope district which is not a good one either.

It was our number two choice behind Eclectic. We found everything we were looking for here in Eclectic but nothing bad to say about Holtville school or area. Good luck to you.

Is Holtville where Sonny Smart coached before he went to Bainbridge? (Hope this isn't too far off topic)

We're actually looking up around there to move. Maybe Lake Jordan. Won't matter for kids but we just like the area.

We used to play them in baseball every year. They were a good team and we always played each other pretty close. But redneck central was a perfect description of them. Thats been 10 or 15 years ago though

Yes sonny smart did coach there my dad played for him, dad graduated from there in 80 I think, Holtville was our first choice when we were looking to buy last year, house we wanted there had sold, so we moved into Marbury school district, and are very pleased, you won't be disappointed living in Holtville, parents live there and love it

My understanding is that Holtville has a good math program and/or their students always score high in math.

We lived ther for 7 years. We still go to church there. We know several teachers and students from the school. People are flooding the area and one reason is the school. You have good and bad in any of them. All that said it is a fine school. It was our first choice area but found land in Marbury first. Hoping the schools here are what they say they are. Got any questions on Slapout let me know!
Don't blame me for your bad decision-

They do have a pretty nice baseball field, better than Paterson Field in Montgomery and much safer neighborhood.
