Hate that it's over, now time to build more calls and find more ground for next year!

Took me all the way until March 24th to get him but got him and a couple of his buddies to break away from the hens mid morning. I think he was a 4 year old with one good spur and other spur had been broken at some point.

Called a group of two year olds to the gun barrel right off the roost, killed the first one that got to me!

Took a trip to with some of my good buddies to Texas early April. Could only kill two a piece with the outfitter we went with but we had a great time and was nice to hunt some turkeys you could yelp all the way to the barrel.

Got back from Texas and went and hunted with at a buddy of mines place. Worked a turkey for a couple hours before he could finally get a shot. Turns out when I got to the turkey it was quite the gobbler. He took a ride with my buddy to the taxidermist.

#5- The Jake Killing! I took a good friend of mine to try and get him a bird. At this time he hadn't killed a gobbler in Alabama yet and we were desperate to get him one. We heard two turkeys gobbling hard off the roost and went to them. We worked two of the hardest gobbling turkeys you've ever heard for two hours before they finally broke and came to us. They finally showed themselves in the thick stuff and I told my buddy when he got a clear shot to shoot one, after he shot I jumped up and shot the other one as it was running off. When I got to them I came to find out we had just smoked two of the hardest gobbling jakes I had ever heard. Never in a million years did I think they were jakes but oh well! They shouldn't have come in there sounding like that!

This was a turkey that had been giving me fits all year. Finally caught him strutting in a good place with a hen late one evening and made a move on them right before fly up. Another good turkey that I think was 4 yr old or better.

Got in between some gobblers that I had spotted the evening before and ended up finishing the Alabama season on a high note with another good 4 year old plus turkey.

Mully,

Ha! I don't have to worry about any game warden because I have my own warden who keeps up with me and has a whole list of things ready for me when I get to no. 5!!!

Congrats. nice pictures. my mother-in-law asked my wife "he only needs one more deer for the freezer, why hasn't he killed one in a while?". my wife "he won't kill that one until the last weekend. otherwise he is afraid i might not let him go back."
