Hey guys,I have been turkey hunting for .any years and have always done pretty good.but after last year turkey hunting wasn,t to good so I aded my turkey gun an 870 xpress for anewer 20 gauge automatic for dove hunting.with the intention of buying another turkey gun when my income tax came.Well my wie wanted to buy a new house so we did,and had to pay most of he income tax on a down payment. And that leaves enough money to join a club near were we moved and to fix my tracor lift. Were i can get my deer huning land bushoged and planted. So I have been useing to 2o gauge for turkey huning.I shoot number 5 shot and have always with great susess. But I have been turkey hunting 5 times due to haveing to move. But 4 out of 5 times i have called in mutiible longbeards to less han 30 yards and I shoot and the turkeys just fly away. I know at least 2 had to be hit hard, because, they were head on at 20 yards. But both cases there were 3 to 4 birds there and it happened so fast all I saw was the turkeys fly strait up in the air.I looked for all of them and found nothing.I hear alot of you mention tss 9 shot Were can I buy that bullet bass pro dont understand about a urkey load ofny tss.

TSS is a handloaded bullet not available for retail as far as I know. I shoot federal heavyweight 7s out of my 20 in a 3" and it patterns well at 40 yards haven't shot it any further but they make them in a 2 3/4" may want to check into them

Your teammate Jughead will be happy to load some TSS for you. I would advise you to change chokes but just be careful not to blow your hand off.

Patterning at different ranges on a piece of paper is one thing.

Any gauge loads can have great pattern at various ranges.

At extended ranges the knock down power is most important.

This is a little more difficult to test.

Get some thick cardboard and test at different ranges. See which loads penetrate best at various ranges.

I have seen tss loads makes perfect patterns at 45 yards but the turkey hit the ground and then got up and flew off.

Sorry tss loader guys but the truth will set you free.

Good luck.

Man you outta quit trying to pattern your gun on a live bird. That's horse chit to shoot 4 birds before asking for advice. If you can't afford a gun to turkey hunt with, I will send you one of mine to use for the season. Just send me a pm.

10 4. Seems pretty sorry to be gimping up birds like that. There aren't many clean misses when you're shooting a shotgun. I'm no better than any other hunter, but the birds deserve more respect than that..

popcorn Tons of potential in this one.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

That's about the silliest chit I ever heard. Heck if I could get a bird to 20yds I would use low brass 7 1/2s.
