Going turkey hunting for the first time Sat. What would be the best kind of decoy to purchase (cheap as possible as not sure how much I will turkey hunt). I see cheap inflatable ones; but that didn't seem great as you could shoot and destroy them if your target was near them. Advice please..........

Based on all the info you gave, I wouldn't get anything.
A lot of us here started hunting when they weren't allowed. Then used them some when they were first legal. Now hardly ever use them.
See if you enjoy hunting turkey. Then see if you want decoys, and get something decent and worth using.

Was thinking that way too but I still wanted to make sure I was putting my best foot forward. My brother and I are going; he is going to call and I am tending the gun. See how it goes but it will be fun just to be out there. Thanks for the advice.

Based on all the info you gave, I wouldn't get anything.

I use the $10 decoy's from walmart just stuff a couple plastic grocery bags in the tail and head and you are good, they are made out of foam so they are light and they work, I wish I could get a couple Avian X decoys...

I carried a featheflex for alooooong time an killed turkeys with it. Now ive got me an avian x feeder hen. Always remember tho if you use one try to set it up not directly between you and the direction you think the turkey may be coming. Becaude if hes lookin at the decoy he'll be lookin at you, so i try to set it up and sit to the side or at an angle aprox 25 yards. Since you have somebody callin for you id try to get my gunner way out ahed of the decoy in a similar fashion and call the turkey past him thats a good easy beginner strategy that works.
