Have a little respect for other fishermen in sloughs when you blow by going 90 to nothing. Blows my mind how fast some folks blow by other fisherman in tight sloughs and under bridges. Saw one boater about to loose it one time in a tight slough. SLOW DOWN ! We call you dumb asses when we see you and we do remember you. Rant over.

When I was a kid in the 70's my dad and I were putting the boat in when this speed boat blew by this runabout loaded with a family. The boat flipped one of the kids got stuck in the air pocket in the bow. Took them about 10 min to get everyone out and to safety. Thank goodness nobody lost there life. Speed boat driver was arrested for reckless endangerment and boating under the influence.

Lot less wake while on pad. But that's not to say some guys aren't just reckless. If I have to go by someone pretty close, I idle. If I can shoot by on plane and keep 75yds away or so I'll do it

To me it is a lot better to run on by at a safe distance while on plane due to it not throwing as big of a wake but if I can't do it at a safe distance I'll just idle by. I was out today fishing and a guy in a stick steer boat with about a 60 on it was coming right at me down the bank, in my mind I thought I sure hope he speeds up because he was in between a fast idle and planed off throwing a 3 foot wave behind him. Well he doesn't speed up at all and comes in between me and the bank I'm fishing when he had the entire lake behind me he could've ran and when his wake met my 21 foot phoenix I had to sit down it was so rough. In my opinion it's not just the guys with big motors that cause problems. I think it's mostly a lack of respect and the knowledge of how to properly drive a boat.

Please don't slow down to fast idle and wake me out!!! I'd much rather you go by on plane.

If I see you in time, I will slow down to idle speed until I pass. If I don't see you in time, I try to get as far away as possible and stay on plane.

Please go fast when you come by me x2 X3 It kills me when boats come flying up on you and the drop it down 20yrds away and cause 3ft swells for the next 5 minutes while they think they are doing you a favor.

Please go fast when you come by me x2 When you see what a boat looks like after impact at 70mph you won't say that... I have. I have a family and don't mind a couple big waves for 45 seconds knowing no way i'm getting smoked by some guy trying to control his vessel. It's stupid and dangerous. Everyone is a badass and tuff guy with their super fast lime green bass boat until they kill someone or themselves. I fish the Guntersville at least once a week more if I can get out and it amazes me how stupid people are especially the guys that have more money than skill.
