Got a tournament up at Lay this Saturday Feb 25th. Anyone got any ideas on catching a big bag, and what it has been taking up there to get in the money? :p

My club fished it in Dec and again last Saturday. It took 15lbs to win in Dec and took 12lbs to win last week. The top (3) from last weeks tourney were all doing something different. There was about a pound difference b/t 1st and 3rd.

I've heard about the same. Seen a few small tournaments the last couple weekends taking only 12lbs. to win it. The big fish weighed in were all spots.

My buddy fished up there last weekend and said that they caught a lot on finesse worms and carolina rigs on rocky points. He said the folks that one and had higher weights than them threw spinnerbaits around grass near deeper water.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

Thanks for the info, those weights were pretty low. I hope the weather is better this weekend than last weekend and hope the fishing is better.

where ya'll puttin in? Our club will be at Lay Lake this Sat too. We are puttin in at Beezwax public launch. I've been kickin around the idea of runnin up above the 280 bridge and tryin the big spots out. with all the rain, they should be moving some water all day.
