Anybody on here ever hunt ft rucker? If so, any tip? I'm gonna hunt out there this year and can use some advice.

Thanks

I will second the fact there are some darn fine ones in there although I have not personally hunted it as I have my own land a few miles from the reservation. My main buddy up there is friends with a couple of the guys who hunt it frequently and have done so for many years. They kill some really good bucks but from what I have heard the learning curve in there is pretty steep.

My friend is the lead biologist at Ft. rucker. They have some monster deer, but the only problem is the pressure, and having to check in and out of areas or the area being closed.

I don't mind doing the hunt check system, I had to do it at ft Campbell when I was in the army. I just don't know the best areas out there or were to even start. With work I didn't get a chance to scout anything out, and I'm probably gonna be stalk hunting at least the first few tes out until I can find a decent spot. I thought about calling up the game warden out there and asking him if he knows if there are any areas that are more promising than others. You can waist alot of time trying different areas out owith how big of an area it is.

Get out there and have fun. Few times I hunted was a waste of time. Got to have a few big ones if you can find them just a lot of area. Impoundment area is a great sanctuary you can't hunt!

I do as well. As far as areas to hunt go charlieC just depends on whats open. Do you hunt there now. Or are you looking to get started?
