In 25 years of planting fields we've never had an issue planting in mid to late Sept., but this year broke the streak. Last weekend we put out fertilizer, cultipacked our clover only fields and got everything preped, but did not put out the seed. In Jackson Co. how late can you plant both fall mixes and perennial clover fields? Not sure if clover needs an earlier start b/c it seems to grow slower than cereal grains.

Man the clock is ticking. Get much past Nov 1 up here and it's hard for it to get enough growth for plots. BUT every year is different.

I'm hope the weather adjust for late planting..... Same as too hot too long.....

I'm with you Rob, my plots have been worked up for a month. I keep putting off planting each weekend. I shoot for 3rd week of September. It's so dry the seed will just lay there till rain, not enough moisture to get them up. It's drier up here than in 06 or 07 and that was bad. Prolly have to go back to the big drought of 80 to find it this dry.
