I have not, but have talked to a few guys that tried it. You'll need to add gas checks, but you still won't be able to get much velocity.
What would you be shooting with them?

Just bought my son one of those Rossi single shots for his birthday on Thursday. Thought about loading up some cast stuff to get him a little more trigger time.

Personally, I wouldn't go that route because of serious lead fouling, etc., and the time spent on casting and equipment to do so would not offset the expense & time.
You can buy some cheaper quality Remington bullets for $15.00 - $17.00 per hundred. At $0.15 each, how much cheaper could casting them be?

That is one way to go, however I already have all the required equipment to cast the bullets myself, except for the 6mm mold.
The time it takes to cast the bullets is a non-issue also due to my employment.
I'm loading in the 1000-1500 fps range with a 105 grain bullet at this time, so i really don't think a gas check or a lead fouling problem will be an issue. By the way he turns 6 on Thursday.

Yea, He doesn't clean his guns anyway. Lead fouling isn't an issue once your rifling is full of old wheel weights. It just helps open up those groups a little so you can see um better.
It is what it is.

Finally found some cast 243 bullets, gonna load some up with some TrailBoss powder for Kyle. We will see how these work. They have got to be better than those 44 mags i loaded with 1.5 grains of Trailboss.

Don't know how they made it out of the barrel.
There's more pressure behind a spitball.

Most make it out, thats why there is 1.(5) grains and not 1.

There's more pressure behind a spitball. It's a snubnose. any more powder than that and it tears up my target.

I have found with the rossi 243 single shot you will need to load a light bullet to get good groups. the gun will not stabilize any thing above 80grn

The owner was wanting to shoot the 100 grain factory Rems and it would not. Not at all. I never could convey to the owner what the problem was after we shot some 80's and they grouped fair. He still says that it should shoot the 100's if it will shoot the 80's. Oh well.

Got a chance to burn some powder over the weekend and....
240 grain LSWC w/ trailboss powder @ 250 fps average no recoil, 20 feet indoor practice load shoots almost same POA as 44 spl load.
95 grain cast 243 w/trailboss @ 1350 fps average sighted @ 50 yards, very little recoil all rounds in 8" paper plate.
I sent a few(5) @ 100 yards, no signs of tumbling but will send more once Kyle gets comfortable with the rifle. Let him shoot at the 12" steel plates @ 50 yards. I think i'm gonna need more ammo.
