Heading up to Bham for the deer expo and me and my buddy are going to pull the boat and fish Sunday. Any advice on where to launch and fish? Neither of us has fished this lake so any and all advice would be appreciated!!

Launch at Okomo, below Columbiana, ask where the old railroad bed is (you can see the buoy from Okomo), worms and crank baits should do the trick.
Hunting is not a matter of life and death, it is much more important than that.

If this is your first trip to Lay, **BE CAREFUL**
You can tear a boat up quick! Be sure to get a map. There is ALOT of underwater timber in that lake! If you launch at Paradise Point, you can go up river pretty easy. Lots of good fishing. If you go down from Paradise, thats where you can get in trouble. Good Luck!

There is ALOT of underwater timber in that lake And its harder then Chinese arithmetic! BE CAREFUL.....  If you want to practice casting the wore out railroad bed is a good place. If you want to get bite fish the weeds in Spring or Blue Spring creek with a floating lizard.

What 300 Mag said: BE CAREFUL. Lay has LOTS of submerged timber and stumps fields. Okomo is a good launch, and that old rail bed is good fishing. But be careful when you come out of the slough. There is submerged standing timber on the right side, and shallow water full of stumps on the left. I have seen a lot of props ruined on that lake. Good idea to get a map, and be sure to stay in the channel when you are running hard.
