Do any of you know anything about playing card value for MLB and NBA? I've got quite a collection from the 90s and have no idea what to do with it. Neither do I have a clue where to start.

You can check ebay for specific cards but most baseball cards aren't worth much of anything anymore. My wife's boss has a basement full of baseball cards. He had a good business back in the day but he's stuck with what he has now. He's just hoping they rebound at some point.

unfortunately that's what I found doing a little research about it as well. I've got boxes and boxes of them, some good ones. I should have unloaded late 90's early 2000's when they were popular still.

like you say, maybe they will catch a second wind.

www.beckett.com is still the best value guide, but they want you to pay for an annual subscription, I don't know if they still do a print issue.

I have a few thousand, and I priced about 20 of them up to around $300. I wish I knew of a place that would offer me $150 for all of em.

Boy, I used to love looking cards up in my Beckett. My Brother, Travis and I had a pretty good collection. Still do. I bought a box at a yard sale a while back, they were all in hard plastic sleeves and were labeled with price tags. The price tags must have been from when they were at their peak because they sure enough ain't worth what they were labeled for now. I think I bought the whole box for 10 bucks or less. The total of the labeled cards Values was up in the thousands. I still pull them out and go through them every now and then.

I hope they make a come back one day.

I have a Mickey mantle card. Emmit smith pro bowl mvp and a majic Johnson rookie card stored away somewhere. Might be worth something.

Most of mine I still have are from 1971-72. Steve Garvey, Pete Rose, Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, Hank, etc.

By the late 90s the baseball card market became over loaded. More and more companies made cards. Then you had all the juicing stuff going on. Those two things just killed the value of them. I still got a closet full of them.
