One thing that I have noticed about hunters that consistently kill a limit - they tend to have multiple properties to hunt. Almost any tract of land will have down years. If you limit yourself to one area, you are likely going to have some bad years. I killed turkeys on 4 different tracts scattered over 3 counties.
IMO, the most important factor in Turkey hunting success is access to a lot of land that has turkeys.
This and it also depends on how pressured the birds are. I found out 2 new guys were running birds all over the place before the season opened. They were practicing I guess.
This property of 350 acres used to produce 2 limits, one for my friend and one for myself almost every year for 15 plus years. It is just one of those places, however a few things have changed and fewer birds. My last limit was 2 years ago.
I might hang it up for a few years till I find another place to hunt.
