I was talking to a guy at work that has 60 acres. He said it was loaded with turkeys. He said he was filling his feeders up for the deer and saw all three gobblers with five hens yesterday afternoon. That got me to thinking, how much would you pay to hunt 60 acres that is loaded with turkeys.
I told him if it's loaded up like he says, I can give them $200 to Hunt it.

60 acres ain't much land when it comes to turkeys, however, I'd pay $200 and make sure the corn was gone before I hunted.

I wouldn't pay to hunt around feeders, you are gonna need that money for fines if you get caught.

I know 60 acres isn't much land, but it could be another place to get another turkey. And yes I wouldn't hunt over feeders.

I have a tract I have hunted for 22 years that only 120 acres, and I only turkey hunt about 40 of that. But its the right 40 acres. Piles of turkeys on that place. I normally kill 1 or 2 from that place every year.

I wouldn't pay that personally but I did kill 4 turkeys off 40 acres 1 year. Looking back now I think the guy with the land beside it had baited it. It was a mans land that would give about anybody who asked permission. I couldn't figure out what there was so much turkey scratching on that place. Then a few years later I threw out some milo before season and the puzzle started going together.

My son and i, took 5 longbeards off of 40 acres last year. Location, is one thing, the other is making your property to where the turkeys want to come there or stay. Prime nesting habitat is key, along with bugging area's, dusting area's, and of course food.

That is a bargain. I have 120 acres that costing me and buddy $2500 a year, and we didn't kill a deer off of it this season. Not because we couldnt but we just didn't hunt it but twice each. I did shoot one just didnt kill it.
We also turkey hunt the place and my son killed one opening day and I could have taken a young bird but passed. We will get our monies worth on it turkey hunting as it is loaded with birds and has the only large plots 4.8.9 for quite a ways, and all hardwoods with two springs.
Pay the man $200 and go clean up the corn and start killing those birds.
