Less than 100 point gap in delegates, and a long ways to go. I wouldn't call that winning clearly.

I have a close friend, a hunting buddy, that is a successful trial lawyer, a fairly conservative guy, but he had a strong dislike for Bush. This guy is all in for Trump which I found quite interesting and a little surprising.
This is only one person but I think this shows the Donald has broader support than a lot of people think. I'm in the anyone but Hillary camp

First of all its Cruz not Cruze..... 2nd who in the hell can watch trump and say dammit man that guy is awesome I want him running our country.... The guy earlier was correct... I swear, some of y'all help me make my point. I clearly said that Trump is marketing. Many of us have our own reasons for looking for an alternative to the establishment clones. Trump knows that and isn't marketing to us - yet. He knows we have our own reasons for going against the grain. The silly banter he's been doing has been drawing in voters from every direction, while at the same time, he has listed a plan, for example, to replace Obamacare, that damn near had the support of every conservative on here. It's not elitist when you see people that don't normally vote Republican supporting Trump. It's because he was the shiny thing that caught their attention. Y'all need to get over yourselves and realize he's been ahead of the curve on damn near every issue and hasn't been running ads, asking for donations, or begging for airtime. This guy is a friggin' genius.

BTW, it's more elitist to assume that the blue-collar, working class folks are the Honey Boo-boo crowd. That's NOT who I had in mind when I brought that up. If my Honey Boo-boo reference offended you, tough shucks. Your EBT card likely still works.

The most current poll shows that Trump gets crushed by Clinton. I hope if he wins the nomination he can rally the 60-70% of voters that vote against him in every state.

Trump is beating Hillary in all the swing states and that is all that matters. Where some of y'all not alive in 2000? The general vote means nothing.

Just for the sake of argument though go look at where Reagan was polling against Carter in March of 1980. He was getting around 30% of the general vote.

You're right. General election polls don't.mean much right now. I really believe Trump smokes Clinton in the general election.

Let's list just a few of the the dumb deals that establishment politicians have gotten us into:

The invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq
The invasion and subsequent occupation of Afganistan
How many of our boys have died or been maimed? And for what? After all these years of fighting both of those places are a bigger shythole than when we started and neither government can defend themselves from the very type extremist that we supposedly went in there to defeat! How much money have we thrown up a wild hog's arse over there?
Obamacare turned a bunch of full time crappy jobs into part time crappy jobs. And it's just another huge bureaucracy.
Nafta exported jobs overseas and it's going to be tough getting them back.
The Iran nuclear deal...

The list goes on and on and it is way to extensive to list here! The establishment of both parties got us where we are today.

People are sick and tired of the establishment of both parties and I don't think it just the blue collar people. By the way there's fewer and fewer of those people thanks to the establishment's crappy deals. Our once thriving middle class is being diminished because all of the jobs where a guy used to could make a decent living without a college degree are being either regulated out of existence [Coal and energy], shipped overseas [Manufacturing] or now being performed by illegal immigrants [Construction.]

Countries are kicking our arse in trade, because they are protectionist in their policies and we are "free trade" and we accept that as a "good for Americans" deal.

It's crap like this why people are voting for Trump. They feel, right or wrong, that he can right the ship, that he can stand up to Russia and China, that he won't saddle us with more crappy trade deals, that if he sends the military in he send them in to kick arse and bring them home. He'll turn off the flood from Mexico. He'll do something about all the illegals already here. He'll bring blue collar jobs back. Etc...

Can he do that? I don't know. Does the thought of him as president scare me? Honestly it does, because you aren't sure what you are getting. I think most people feel that way, but are voting for him anyway. It's payback for Obama and for the Republicans letting that happen.

That's a good post.
I am a Cruz and Carson supporter but that is a good summary of things.

The next 8 months are going to be real interesting. Heck, even the atheist socialist 60s hippie Sanderstein is making things interesting over on the Communist side of the race.

God help us.

You can't possibly believe that he made billions slinging this crap, can you? He's pulling the low info crowd now, and will start selling to the rest of us after he's got his delegates. Did ya'll forget what the "masses" elected the last two terms? This guy is a marketing genius and a force of nature. He gets it. He knows what people buy.

"The low info crowd"

I gotta ask, does that make you feel empowered somehow? I hear liberals use that sort of talk, and they refer to themselves as "intellectuals", as if promoting homosexuality and socialism somehow increased their IQ. It's an insult, and not a very well thought out one either. I think you might consider that you might need one of the low hanging fruit types to give you a job one day.

Vulk, you're totally backwards about this. The "low info crowd" are the ones voting for Trump. They aren't unlike the "low info crowd" on the liberal side that voted for Obama. Be honest, we got Obama for ONE reason--he's black. There were 35% first time voters in both of his elections, surveys showed nearly all of them were black. I am not making a racist statement against blacks, I'm making a comparison to this election cycle. We are seeing that same kind of hollow fandom in this cycle, it's like the Pied Piper really. And it's a distinct demographic who's chasing after Trump. I think your Facebook feed is a looking glass into human nature, so I'll use my FB page to illustrate the point... If I have a friend on FB who is very well spoken, highly educated (but not in the liberal indoctrination kind of way), a professional business owner, etc, he or she is against Trump. (Think white collar type of folks) Conversely, if I have a FB friend who is a "roughneck", the kind who posts pictures "Share this cross if you love Jesus", is a grease-monkey in a shop, goes home after work and plays X-box, uses profanity because he doesn't have a strong enough vocabulary to make his point otherwise, likes Nascar, then that person has a first-rate hard on for Trump. And I'm not exaggerating that description, that's honestly what I see. Most of those people have never spoke a word about politics before. But suddenly now they are experts: they hate Mexicans, hate the establishment, and they post every Trump meme that comes on Facebook.

Now look, I have never stepped foot in college, I am not "highly educated" in the academic sense. In fact, I am an outspoken critic about the Devil's schoolyard (American colleges). But I agree with being smart! Prager University (a conservative website) did a study and showed a distinct difference between those voting for Trump and those voting for other candidates. The least educated and lowest earners were voting for Trump. Not because they believed his platforms would change their lives, but because they connected with him.

You sir, get it. You are educated beyond your schooling. I think in the near future you'll start seeing Trump move away from the "big hands" conversation and showing some substance. I've never met him, but I know some folks that have. Those people tell me he is brilliant and a private conversation with him is not like what he is currently selling. Trump is "converting" the low info voters right now. Slam dunk with substance will follow.

Those blacks will come around to Hillary. They ALWAYS do. That's just plain old facts.

Agreed. The blacks always pull the lever for a Democrat.

Black people didn't get obama elected. They only make up a total of 13 percent of the population. Between those too young to vote, those who can't vote, and those who won't vote that number is cut at least in half. White liberals put obama in office.

Just some numbers for everyone: (I changes Trumps 4.3 million to 43 so that the numbers are easier to understand)

Total popular votes
Trump = 43
Cruz = 35
Rubio = 24
Kasich = 11

If you remove TX
Trump = 36
Cruz = 23
Rubio = 19
Kasich = 10

Removing TX (Cruz's home state) and Trump is dominating the popular vote.

If both Rubio and Kasich dropped out, Cruz would have to take 75% of those votes to tie Trump. Cruz would probably take 60-65%, except the states from this point forward Trump will be stronger than Cruz (out of the south / bible belt).

Unless Trump implodes he is going to win the nomination.

This whole thought that Trump supporters are low hanging fruit is laughable and one of the reason a lot of Cruz supporters do their candidate more harm than good. Just as an example the only person I talked anything political with today has a college degree and has risen extremely fast in his chosen career field and is actually over the whole southeastern division of the corporation he works for and he is 100% for Trump. I really think some of y'all should focus on emphasizing your candidates positives as you see it instead of insulting people because they are voting for someone other than your chosen one.........

I can't argue at all with the low information voter statement.

I'm not challenging anyone's IQ, means of making a living or anything else. I've had a foot in blue collar and another in white collar most of my life.

However, I have noted an unwillingness of Trump supporters to actually look at the facts. His history and the facts of his past indicate a man who will say anything, do anything to get what he wants. He's admitted it himself.

That indicates a man with no moral fiber. One who has no convictions and believes in nothing except getting what he wants. My experience tells me to run away from those types. So I dig deep into his past and see all these things that are right there in front of me that indicate he's not even close to conservative and in fact much closer to Hillary's viewpoints.

When you don't know all these things and vote for him then you classify as ignorant. Just uninformed. There are a LOT of Trump voters than meet this criteria. They are mad and want change but just don't know his past.

Then there are those who know his past. If you're one of those Trump supporters on this site that have read his past and ignore it, don't care and are determined to vote for him regardless of what his past tells you...well that classifies as dumb. You see what he's actually about but choose to ignore it. That's the definition of dumb.

That's fine. I don't mean it derogatory towards anyone. It's just a fact.

You can claim you're niave if you want. But I've seen enough people trying to show folks on this website the truth to know most everyone has seen the truth of his past and are choosing to ignore it.

So when he gets in office and does what he's always done ya'll don't need to act surprised. Just like Obama, his past will indicate his future.

I don't think it has a thing to do with education.

Low information doesn't mean that at all.

If kasich and Rubio stay in, I agree, that will secure a trump victory. If they were to drop out, it would be a very very close race. If they wait til after the 15th, trump likely wins. From the polls I've seen, Cruz would likely receive 75% of their voters or more if it was a two man race. Either way. It is inevitable that no candidate is going to have enough delegates for an automatic nomination. This could get very interesting.
