Been eyeballing these awhile. Anyone here have anything to share about these rifles. I'm interested in getting myself a 257 or 300 weatherby. I like what I've read so far.

I have one in .257 WBY. I upgraded from a standard Vanguard in the same caliber about 3 years ago. Zero complaints, and I love the fact that it's guaranteed sub-MOA from the factory. The stock is a definite upgrade, although I'm not crazy about the gray color. Hard to beat for the price.

I have a vanguard S2 (RC) Chambered in 257wbymag. I'm getting 3/4" inch groups with factory ammo. Mines the dark green, with black splatter..

I'm considering one of these also in a 6.5 creedmoor. Not sure if I want the ruger American predator, browning, vanguard 2 or just do another custom.

They are good rifles. .257 is one heck of a deer round. That's what I would get if the rifle wasn't doing double duty as an elk rifle.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I have two of them on is a 257wby and the second is a 338win mag...haven't shot the 338 yet but I love the 257wby zero complaints...never been a weather rifle guy bit the vanguard 2 has really grown on me after using the one in 257 this past deer season

I believe the .240, .257, and .300 are the only WBY mag offerings at this time.

I shoot .300 WBY and about all other Weatherby calibers. I'm a big Weatherby homer. When I was coming up around my camp a Sako or a Weatherby Mark V rifle was something considered a cut above. One of my favorites rifles is an older Vanguard in .300 WBY. Bought it to hunt with instead of beating up a nicer rifle... off a guy for about $300. Threw a good stock on it and it shoots under an inch no matter what I feed it.
With 165's the .300 WBY is not significantly different than .300 Win Mag given the barrel length of the Vanguard. You really have to shoot 180's to start gaining any ground and those are a bit heavy for whitetails.
It is not really a 500 plus yard kinda gun off the shelf. Which is where you'd really see the benefit of the .300 vs. the .257 in terms of terminal performance. As such, I would go with .257 myself on whitetails. It is like a death ray at any reasonable distance.
