I have been doing some research on game cameras from what I can tell from Trail Cam Pro and Chasinggame.com and a few other sites. The Primos proof cam 02 low glow camera and proof cam 03 no glow camera are about as good as you can get in there price range. My question is for those of you that have both low glow and no glow cameras does the low glow spook deer especially older bucks. Is the no glow worth the extra money or is it just a gimmick to sale more cameras.

I only use no glow cameras now. Animals and people can see the low glow. With the no glow, you can use them in a security type setup if the need ever arises.

No glow is the way to go. Regular red IR flash absolutely spooks deer, and any variation of low glow. The best black flash cameras I've found are Covert black flash cams. Completely silent and invisible to deer and the batteries last 6 months in the woods. They start at about $120 on eBay

Cant tell any difference other than the blackout night pics are a little less clear. No difference in spooking anything

No glow all the way unless you are mounting them about 7-8 ft off the ground. Then it doesnt seem to make much difference.

I have both. Somehow the deer still notice the No glow but don't seem to react as negatively.

After hearing what a difference the blackflash makes, I experimented this year. Now, the people I know that use all blackflash, have good, land, so their results may be skewed.
I got deer at all hours of the day and night on both types, but I actually got more daylight pictures of the same deer in daylight. It seemed like the no flash, made them calm down a little more, and they stayed longer during the daylight.

I don't think there is that much of a price difference anymore. The Stealth cam G42NGs with black flash that I use are about $109 off of Amazon.

They 100% see the low glow cams. Some see it and keep trucking, others see it and run and are never seen again. I have hundreds of videos for evidence. I have yet to see one look at a no glow. If you have a choice, always go with the no glow.

IMO, a lot of the problems people have with low glow flash cameras is mounting them too low. Nearly every camera I run across on the clubs I hunt are around knee/waist level. For several years I have mounted my cameras as high as I can reach on a tree. Since starting that practice, deer don't spook - and the deer on our clubs are pressured deer. And that's with using Covert Red 40's a good portion of time also.

I use only no-glow cams now. I get consistent results as far as numbers of deer showing up. With the low-glow cameras I would see fewer deer showing up over time. I'm a believer in deer getting wary of places where low-glow cameras are used - causing flash avoidance.

The guy that does my homebrew cams has done some study on this and he says the worst thing you can use is the red IR. He thinks the black or no flash is the best but the red IR is by far the worst as far as spooking animals.
