I raised my oldest son...had custody of him since he was 5 months old. He just turned 24 in November!

Fifteen is my limit on Schnitzen-Gruben, Baby...
I have OCD and ADD, so everything has to be perfect, but only for a minute.

That's awesome. Me an my daughters mom are good friends just are not together.I get her every other day when I get off work an get her from daycare an shell spend a few hours with me then go home an when I get her on Friday ill keep her till Saturday evening. Works out a lot better then getting her every other weekend I think.

I get along ok with BamBam's mom...she's not a bad sort, just has trouble keeping her panties on, even still.

I got custody of my son. Ex got custody of daughter. It worked out really well. No child support until he graduated high school and went in to the Marines. They both turned out pretty good. He's 24, she's 20 now.

I was in a relationship when my daughter was born so its been like this since day 1. I'm friends with her boyfriend I'd rather him be around my daughter then any other male.

I pick my daughter up and take her to school every day and I pick her up every afternoon. I take her home after we eat supper. She stays with me every Saturday night and I take her home Sunday evening. I also take her on trips whenever I want. I have joint custody and we don't have a set schedule. Every child needs involved parents on both sides. It wasn't her fault her mother and I divorced and I want to make sure she knows how important she is to me. Being an every other weekend father wasn't an option for me and luckily my ex wife realized how important it was for my daughter to have both of us raising her.

The mother of my daughters up and split when they were 7 and 9 years old. I raised them as a single dad for 8 years before I remarried. They are 22 and 20 now, one is about to graduate with a degree in nursing at UAB and the other is a sophmore at Auburn studying for communications disorders.
They both love their daddy like not other ... What a huge blessing it was when God gave me legal and physical custody of them.
They see their mother a few times a year but call their step mother and I their parents. Their step mother (my wife) has been a huge positive influence on them and has taught them a lot of things I could not.
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin
Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

I know y'all didn't post any of this for recognition, but I got to say, MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU GUYS!! I know we all say we'd do anything for our kids, and I truly believe that, but what a man it takes to do this! My schedule is jacked up and I often wonder what I'd do if (God forbid) something happened to my wife. I know I would find a way to make it work, but the amount of time, self motivation, etc. etc. it would take is unbelievable. Again, y'all deserve a huge round of applause for what you do!

A big thumbs up to all of you single dads. I have no idea how I would raise my two on my own. Y'all are men stepping up and taking responsibility and you don't see that a lot these days. Keep up the good work.

I know a bunch of kids with no dad( as far as they know), a bunch of grandparents raising their grandchildren( because their parents would rather get high), and a bunch of divorced dads getting raped every week for child support. I'd say you guys are a lucky bunch and so are your kids. God bless you. You're definitely part of the answer, not the problem.

I honestly don't deserve as good as I've got and that is the honest truth. I also don't figure any father deserves praise for doing what we should do. Our kids need us but in my circumstance I believe God gave me my daughter to put my attention where it needs to be. I honestly don't know where I'd be without her because I was a selfish, self destructive fool before God used my daughter to wake me up. Any investment we make in our kids now will pay off many times over as they grow up.
