Not sure but I have tons of them around a creek I hunt.

Hard to see detail on my phone but it appears to be Sweetbay Magnolia (magnolia virginiana). Leaves have a silver-white underside. Crushed leaf gives off a spicy aroma. Makes good cover scent.

The un-straight/crooked trunk says titi to me. I can't tell if the underside of the leaves are white in order to be a bay tree.

I'm not sure but when they get rubbed by a buck they shine like gold.

I can't seem to get a good picture of the full tree with my phone but here are some better shots of the leaves and a branch. these trees are all over the wetlands in my back yard and they don't have many branches until you get to the canopy. I know they flower in the spring.

That is tie tie, and when it is young it is almost impenetrable to walk through. A timber cruisers worst nightmare when it is young, but you can walk underneath it when it is older like it is in the picture.

Wax myrtle. Had an old neighbor lady ask me to transplant some bushes for her of course i said sure . Walked to the woodline and she pointed at wax myrtles and said they were $50 bucks a piece at the nursery . I wanted to tell her it wasnt what he saw at the nursery but i jus dig 4 of em up and planted it in her yard ! rofl our woods down here are full of them .

The tall trees in your pic are not wax myrtle. Southern wax myrtle seldom grows beyond 15' tall.

Not wax myrtle. It's a bay or titi. I'm not real swift on either one, because I rarely deal with properties that have them.

If it's a Titi, it's supposed to be a good nectar source for honey production.

I'm thinking titi. Any way to distinguish that from the bay trees?
