Im planning a trip to central Alabama in Mid/late January and I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good public land spots ? Not looking for anyones honey hole just looking for a place to hunt a few days, I was also hoping to find a place with some hogs. I was told that Lowndes wma has an archery only area but I couldnt find anything on it in the regs, does anyone out there have any info on it ? Thanks in advance !

WMA's are archery only by default. They do have some gun hunts each season but it's usually scheduled on weekends and spread out thru the season.

COE land along the Tombigbee and Alabama river have some bow only spots but you will need a boat.

I have been looking at the core land, anyone know anything about the Jones Bluff area ? Is it worth checking out, would it be flooded now ? Thanks again for your help.
