For any of you looking for 35 Remington ammunition, there is a small store on hwy 9 just south of Centre,AL that had 17 boxes of Corelokts. The store is cash only.

Not losing money lol. Stores are charged anywhere from 2-5% of the purchase for credit card fees.

Ya Im aware of the the fees but it seems like a lot of times it's for tax evasion reasons

There is nothing wrong with keeping as much for yourself as possible. The government doesn't do right with the tax money anyways.

I know of several mom and pop stores around here that are cash or check only.

One guy took a card for a while and one day I stopped and got has and all I had was a card, he had quit taking them. Said he was loosing money hand over fist because of the fees. I don't mind paying cash and I don't blame them for keeping as much of it as they can. Government is only gonna waste what they get anyways.

Cash-only means they're likely not paying any state and/or federal excise tax on the purchase, as required. But with the public identification and location of the store it probably won't be long before someone drops by to visit.

Ladies and Gentlemen All i was trying to do was inform people who had 35 caliber guns that needed the sometimes hard to find shells where they could find some. I didn't want someone who was going there to be disappointed if they only had plastic. I also know several mom and pop stores who only take cash along with several lawn maintenance companies that only take cash or checks, but that's a whole nother thread jack as well..

Mark has been open for along time and he's just old school. He's a jam up guy and works on my bow and I try to buy what ever I need there if he has it.

I like cash, us it all the time!!With cash most every thing is negotiable! Just negotiated $500.00 off a mule deer and whitetail hunt by offering cash. Heck that will cover my motels, gas and eating to Nebraska and back!
