Do you need a WMA license to hike, scout, etc. on the management area or do you only need the map permit? I'm thinking you only need the license if you're hunting. Is this correct?

I was told so long as you are not armed you can scout all you want without a WMA or hunting license, this was told to me by a game warden that I encountered while scouting.
But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?

If you're planning to hunt the WMA, might as well go ahead and get the license. That way you're clear either way.

"A Wildlife Heritage License is valid in lieu of resident State Hunting and WMA License for small game hunting, excluding waterfowl. " Also needed to use the firing range. http://www.outdooralabama.com/wildlife-management-area-rules-and-regulations I read this today. Or you could call the officer in that WMA and ask him.
Toolmaster I went to bed mean last night and I woke up meaner !!!!!!!!!

You don't need anything to scout or hike.
