I always see videos and pictures of people rocking face paint. I was just wanting other peoples feedback and opinion on it??? Does it work? Does it not? Is it worth it when hunting in a climber or opened stand vs ground blind? Lets see what the verdict is.

I use it in a tree stand, but not a shooting house. does it help? debatable, but it certainly doesn't hurt. if anything, it might allow you to get away with a little more movement since it hides your bright white face.

don't cake it on or cover your entire face, just smear a little on to break up your outline and "dull" the color of your face.

bottom line, do what you want and don't worry about other folks' opinion

Well I know I usually use a light face mask start of season then later get to a thicker one for colder. So everything but eyes are cover on me. Guess I could see it being better first of season. Thanks for some feedback

if you bowhunt, I'd strongly encourage you to ditch the mask for a little facepaint. last thing I'd want is a facemask to somehow get hung up in the bow string right before I fire it.....

I definitely do if I'm bowhunting and facing the east in the morning or west in the evening

I have one of those but still feel naked in the tree without my facemask on. I'll either hit a few strips of paint or put on a lightweight mask. I like the mask because I don't have to worry with washing it off when I get back but the paint is much more comfortable.

As someone else said, do what you want...don't worry what other people do. Either paint or mask is better than nothing.

I HATE both of those scenarios but understand they are unavoidable sometimes. A hunt is not enjoyable to me if I'm constantly shielding my eyes and squinting the whole time. That's my number one focus when I place a stand. Most all of my stands are faced looking North so the sun will not play a major factor and be somewhere behind me during both morning and evening hunts.

Not a fan of using paint, too big of hassle to remove. I do however use a burnt cork I save from wine bottles. Real easy to remove. Just light it for a few seconds and blow it out. Longer you let it burn, the darker it goes on. I just use enough to dull my skin tone down. I don't get all fancy and draw little tree branches and birds like some I've seen. lol

I will duck hunting because I like to watch them work. I don't deer hunting, I don't think they can see well enough to distinguish the color of my face from a white oak or turning leaves. I hunt in a carhart jacket and green overalls most the time.

Face mask instead of paint. Lighter for warm weather heavier for cold.

The only thing I cover my face for is turkeys, and I've killed them without before. Deer can't see anywhere near good enough to pick you off because of your face.

I do not use it. I seldom wear a facemask while bow hunting either. I do however use a thick fleece mask when I hunt on brutally cold days. Not to go undetected, but to stay warm. I've never seen the need for face paint or a mask for deer.
