Anybody ever cook in the AWF cook off? I'm having trouble coming up with something awesome to cook this year and was looking for some suggestions. There are three divisions: fish, foul, and game

I go to the one in lee county every year. I had a venison burger slider with a Krispy Kreme donut that I thought was original. The seafood is usually popular with most folks. Gator season just opened so maybe you could get your hands on se fresh gator. You can get on the awf website and see names of all the past winners dishes that may give you some ideas.

Some gator would be pretty cool. Last year I cooked duck jambalaya and it turned out pretty good but I didn't win anything

We used to cook in it every year until they started letting folks cook anything thy could buy that is also considered wild game. Some guys cooked some of the best pork ribs you ever tasted that they bought out of Kansas City but since we have wild hogs in Alabama it was ok. Bunch of folks cooked shrimp and I can assure you they never fished on or worked on a shrimp boat. Just got hard to compete against things like that with actual wild game that we killed. I could have cooked a beef tenderloin and entered it as elk or venison and they would not know the difference.
