So, i joined a new hunting club last year. the club is not managed well as far as updates go. the club has had the same property for 25 yrs. well, as of 3 days ago, i was infored the club land was being auctioned off in october. So, after i have put in a ton of work, hanging stands, cutting trails, putting out feed and minerals, scouting, summer plots, placing cameras, ect. i am unable to even get day of hunting in this season of the land that i have put so much time, money, and effort into.

Unless you've bought it......it's best not to get too attached to any one piece of property. They have a way of coming and going over time.

Dang man. That is awful. I hope you find a good place to land.

Thanks guys. I know there is public land... it's just not the same as somewhere you have put a lot of work into. Plus, having to put up with some of the idiots and having people walk up on you often. but you are right, at least I can hunt. I'll stop being a cry baby now and suck it up lol.

Clubs lose land all the time for various reasons. We have land owned by four different owners and feel that is a good idea. We had a small tract that was sold to Potlatch we dropped it, mainly because they want you to form a LLC and it is a pain in the butt.

I lost 3800 acres I've hunted the last twelve years this summer. I can relate we had 6 people that hunted it.

6 on 3800 would be awesome! Family land? Did the land sell or someone lease it out from under you?

I had it for free and it got leased.

I assume you knew the landowners to hunt it for free...did they give you the opportunity to lease it?
