Actually, I believe Gatorbaits map is probably the most accurate ive ever seen. The blackbelt doesnt stretch out like alot of people believe. That map is scary accurate.

Leave Selma going N towards Plantersville all sandy, no prairie.

Leave Selma on 22 toward Orrville there's some Prairie on S side of road once you cross Cahaba River. Mostly sandy on both sides of 22 until you get closer to Safford. Not much prairie going east on 14 toward Prattville. Mostly sandy dirt. Hwy 80 going east will get you to some once you pass old Dan River Mills. Hwy 80 going west will take you to some in Marion Junction. Stays pretty gummy from there to Demopolis.

Everywhere in Dallas county is NOT prairie (black belt) soils.

Millers Ferry to Demopolis, to Safford is close to solid prairie.

Not disputing black belt and dont know the original poster but I am also 30 years old. And I have very few people my age I can depend on. And with that being said I would not be very trusting with anything posted especialy on this public forum because people my age seem to want the story to sound bigger than reality. This may not be the case but I have been burned by people of this age and slightly farther south before. That is all!

Hayman, make it a life policy to trust and then verify. People of all ages will scam you. On the other hand, there are a lot of great people still walking this good earth. Simply trust what one says, but don't act until you verify.

Guys-

Sorry but I don't have time to sit & debate Alabama Counties and whether they are or not in the Blackbelt(prarie land, soil made of "gold & silver" & decent Lime)-Give me a damn break-; Marengo is in the Black Belt AND that's a damn fact! Guess I posted this a little soon or actually should've just never posted it but it is what it is.

I guess we have some serious Professionals out here. I don't check this Site at all to be honest, hence the reason I put my email address down for contacting me. That said, I've responded to everyone that's emailed me so far about this place. There's been so much interest in it that I'm doing what I can to keep up etc. To be honest, it's folks like the 3 amigos (Gatorvag, Jaylook & so on) ones saying "it's not Marengo or Wilcox or the Black Belt", that I could care a less to even hear from or have in my Camp in the first place. Guess that's the reason y'all are bitching on an Outdoor site about who knows more than who huh. Thus the reason this will be your hunting season, hunting internet ads & trying to correct them. Must suck!

Like I've said, the Property is in Marengo County Alabama which is in the BLACK BELT! That said, I listed the Ad Marengo/Wilcox because we have a bit of Land that's just West of the Wilcox Line.

If your Interested & your not going to act like "Daniel Boone the Outdoorsman know it all"(bc to be honest, there's only room for 1 of those...and that's ME for this camp), then email me @ bwesley@gulfcity.com & I'll respond when I get to your message. Thanks

Oh and yeah we'll dust a few Tom's Ass this year! WDE

So is the club in the black belt or not? I would like to come visit and take a soil sample.

Vineland is in southeast marengo, and according to the map would not be black belt. I'm not going to all this trouble to make you mad or piss you off, just stating the facts. Now you may very well have some places on your property with traces of prairie soil and cedar trees, but dont be suprised when you turn the soil over and see that nice pretty red clay.
