Hatchet Creek HC has been around probably 50 year.Used to be a dog hunting club. Did have an enormous amount of land.20,000 + ac. I think they are somewhere in the 10,000 ac. range now. No dogs. I have taken a lot of bucks from Coosa co. in the past. I would say the club offers decent hunting.I personally feel the deer numbers in Coosa Co.have dropped considerably . We used to enjoy riding at night and seeing deer on the road sides. Wasn't uncommon to see 50- 100 deer. Tried it several times in the past few years and see maybe 5-10. Trophy potential is fair. Like a lot of the state 120 -130 inch deer being possible. May take a few seasons to connect on this caliber deer but there are a few running around. The fees for Hatchet Creek are reasonable.

I stopped by a few year ago and talked with some of the gu yes there and they said they cut out dogging. It may have changed but call Russell and he can fill you in.
