In 50+ years in the woods I have heard exactly ONE snort wheeze and I was looking at that buck as I had just rattled him to me. You would think from watching TV hunting shows that all bucks did was walk around snort wheezing at everything. Same here. Son and I were bow hunting in Marengo County and we had 4 racked bucks in the field with us. One nice 8 pt was tearing up a tree not more than 5 yards from me. They were walking toward my son so I did not shoot. Son at the time was about 6 or 7 years old and he was ready! There was one in the thick stuff that would not come into the field. He was snort wheezing every minute for at least ten minutes. I had no idea what he was doing as this was probably over 20 years ago and there was no such thing called a grunt wheez then. Later, when the sound became the talk of TV hunting shows we realized what we had heard that evening. Never heard it again in my life.
I can't stand a thief.
