I came home for lunch yesterday. After I ate, I plopped down in my easy chair. My eyelids got heavy. I said to myself, OK, I’ll take 10. And I did.
My wife dozes off in her chair every night. I wake up 20-25 minutes later, look at her chair and go, ‘Dang, Mary must have gone up.’ I look outside and think, OMG, it’s daylight. Look down and think I’ve slept all night in my clothes and I was late for work. It took a second to dust off the cobwebs and realize I was on my lunch hour. It was strange. Hope that’s not Alzheimer’s or something.

This sounds like a real good power nap

I laid down on top of the dam on our pond one afternoon about 2:00 after I had spent about two strait weeks turkey hunting. I woke up at 10:30 that night staring at all the stars. It took me 20 minutes to figure our where i was and what had happened.

Best nap I've ever taken was in the turkey woods a few years ago...........It was one of those mornings that is just crazy still. No wind, no birds chirping and certainly no turkeys making a peep....it seemed like every living creature had just disappeared.

I found a tree and sat down against it, and the way the bottom of the tree and roots were shaped, it kinda wraps around you almost like a chair back. I fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later - only reason I woke up then is thunder off in the distance - otherwise I'd probably still be asleep.

I've taken a few naps against that tree since then, too.

Once on an excavation job where I was by myself and after eating too big of a lunch, I laid down on a dirt pile and dozed off thinking a good 10-20 minutes would be ok. I woke up three hours later with buzzards walking around me. Freaked me out so bad, I grabbed my shovel and started swinging it at everything like a man possessed. I'm glad their weren't no camera's around for that nap.
