Laugh if you want to about Standards but it is funny to me that 90% of the designer dogs something and a Poodle. Why is that?

I have one of Uncle Si's Poodle "Cooper" son's. "As seen on Duck Dynasty." He is 25 inches at the shoulder and 32 at the top of the head. He is as smart as a whip, fast as lightning, and as agile as a cat. I also have his mother and I would not trade them for anything.

Yes, It is because they don’t shed and are hypoallergenic. When most people think of Poodles they think of the yappy toy Poodles. They are bread down and have a lot of problems. The point I Failed to make is that they are really good dogs.Very loyal and family oriented. Most of the truly hypo Doodles end up being 75 to 90% Poodle. I hunted with the one I had before these two when I lived in Memphis. I worked her at the Ducks Unlimited pond at Shelby Farms in Memphis. I was laughed at at first until they saw how good she was.I flooded timber and field hunted with her, she would keep going when my buddy's Chesapeake Bay would get pissed off and quit.

Long before the "mix a doodle" craze , when I was 6 my parents got a dog. That was 1975. Accidental breeding of a Field Champion Weimaraner and an Obedience Titled black Standard Poodle...owner was giving away the puppies. That was the smartest and most agile big dog I've ever been around to this day. Actually was a decent quail dog with a kid as its trainer. Would water retrieve anything anywhere anytime. And would stalk and catch doves on the ground...leaping to snag them out of the air.

She got caught out in a lightning storm around 1980 and was struck and killed.

I've been around many Standard Poodles over the years travelling to AKC dog shows. Great dogs. Not a fan of the show cut (which is the traditional icy water working cut actually for retrieving and hauling nets) because it looks weird.

I got me one of those designer dogs from one of my son's friends for free. I got a Aussiedor (Lab and Australian Shepard). She's smart as a whip. The bitch got out so I have a designer dog now.

In other words, my son brought home a damn mutt.
