Our Selma tournament was cancelled. Glad it was. This could of been a really bad Christmas for some families. Scary stuff when that river is rolling like that

The only reason I hunt ducks is to watch the dogs work.

I grew up in Selma trust me when I say that lil bitty AL river doesn't do jack what this mean ass TN river can do. I'm serious as hell when I say NW wind blows up here you better stay on shore. The AL river is a tame heifer

My oldest son was there and saw it. This is at McFarland Park on the upper end of Pickwick, just below Wilson Dam. The talk was that the boat was pinned by the current against a bridge column and started taking on water so the anglers and the captain left the boat and got in the river. Glad they were OK. This tournament was previously scheduled for last weekend but was rescheduled to this weekend due to weather.

We understand this stretch of water well and fish some current that most folks wouldn't even attempt but it still scares the crap out of me and I do it every year. If I ever quit fearing it I will quit fishing it. That's why someone dies every year up here, it's no joke. I know it like the bck of my hand and I'm afraid so when I see out of town folks running on pad I'm a nervous wreck. Please respect this river and go home safe

everyone who was in the boat is fine. we had just left from talking to them (they are on our team) they ran out of gas and when they went to switch gas tanks over it swept them into the bridge piling. we almost capsized below the dam not long after them.

How did y’all do? Was a tough bite for most of our teams (Scottsboro). One boat did put up 18+ tho.

We ended up zeroing. Had a few smallmouth come off at the boat and caught 3 fish that were almost 15 inches but not quite. Was for sure a hard bite.

I'll second that. We started out bowfishing on the Alabama river and did so for about ten years before branching out. Went up to TN for a big tourney a few springs ago and went to a spot a little down river from Kentucky lake. The wind was whipping so hard that the waves looked like surf at the beach. I 100% thought our whole crew was going to die trying to get across that river that night.
