Been probably 6 or 7 years since I’ve worn snake boots. Got tired of getting 2 years and they would start leaking. Went to wearing Lacrosse Grange boots and I can walk all day in them. This past season I bought TurtleSkins gaiters for me and my son. Wish I had bought them 5 years ago. They are super easy to put on and take off and it doesn’t matter what boot you want to to wear that day. I keep a set in my truck for whenever I may need them. I’ve had turtle skins for about ten years now. Much more comfortable. And have no weight to them. A huge plus when wearing gaiters.

Water Moccasin. Was wearing chaps and thin camo pants. I tried to 1-hop across some thick briars. It was fall. As soon as I planted my foot on my 1 hop, it felt like a man punched my calf. I turned to look and saw the snake as I hopped off. I unzipped that chap quick to see if it had done it's job. It had. The next day I had a small bruise/ red spot just from the impact. I always wear some type of snake protection. I was 16 then. 40 now.
