Just out of curiosity what was the total attendance? It seems like the majority were AL Deer members. The better question might be how do we get more Alabama sportsmen involved in these events? I am new to this state and I am just getting familiarized with the game and fish departments here. From the meeting it seems like they need to see a lot more feed back from hunters and more interaction with the department. Feel free to PM me for any clean up or work days that are upcoming. I would be glad to volunteer time to help and I bet a lot of other members would be too. I counted 25 including state guys

I was in the back in a black polo with hat and glasses. I asked if the state had any plans to promote trapping. I also asked about the validity of aiming towards 1/1 Buck/Doe ratios regarding management. My last question was regarding the use of baiting taxes or feeder stamps as a direct stream of revenue for Fish & Game since they are entirely funded by us and get nothing from the general fund. The latter question will be one that I plan to follow up on with the legislators. The state guys need more resources and better ways to get a census of how many hunters there are. NOT trying to get into an argument about baiting with you boys right here but Something needs to be done. The state guys are facing some serious issues without the CWD threat. I think we all can agree that they need more resources across the board.
