I go Sunday afternoon. Best chance to get a deal because all the vendors would rather sell it than pack it up, carry it back to the store and restock it. That's my theory anyway. Got 4 turkey mouth calls last year for $20.

Back when I was at UAB in early 90's, it was pretty new. I wanted to get my deer scored and called the number. Bob Coker answered the phone. He told me where to meet him and he personally took my deer head from me, gave me my number, and took it to the scorers. It has grown a lot since then.

I've been a couple of times since then and it's gotten more like a large yard sale than a hunting show. Come to think of it, Buckmasters is a close second to it. But since Buckmasters is in my town, we always go on Sundays.

Took the girls up there today. Better than it has been, they had fun. I didn’t pick up a pretty cool turkey fan mount.

I agree with everyone. I saw more hunting stuff this year (less home and garden).

Several new climbers that I have never seen before.

Cant believe I won a door prize they literally announced my name that I was the winner over the loud speaker a few years back. Hell yeah I'm winning a hunting trip. Crap people knew me and showed up to see the prize... A cheap arse $5 hollow fill hot seat lol. Dang that was a let down.

3/4 of the booths aren't hunting related...like literally one booth was a lady selling sheets. Not even camo sheets, just sheets. They've just stereoptyped the demographic and turned it into a giant, high-pressure sales event. It has gotten so high-pressure sales oriented that it's not enjoyable...every booth you walk by the guy is hollering at you with some stupid catch line, or trying to hook a massage contraption to your shoulder, or blowing a duck call at jet engine decibels. It's a deer show, not a duck show. Sitka gear is still $600 for a long sleeve shirt even when it's 20% off.

But Eva Shockey is just crazy fine. Like waaaaaay better in person (and I already thought she was hot on TV)

Way better than years past. Beer stands were a +. Tree stands we’re regular retail, usually pickup a millennium right before closing but the guys wouldn’t budge on their price this afternoon. Don’t know if y’all talked to the guys out of Kentucky with their mineral product but they knew their shucks, ended up buying a bag of their product to try out. Also bought a medicpad which I have on right now and is working wonders on these back pains.

I’m with Fred except it’s if son wants to go and neither care about hunting at this point in their lives and I lost interest in the expo years ago.

I enjoy going. Something I do with my dad every year. My only gripe is I wish I could get around without somebody wanting to shine my watch or my shoes every 100 feet.
