It’s not hard to see what happened. The state declared war on the does and ever since it’s been down hill. I wish the state would go back to a 2 week doe season.

Best turkey hunting property was Delany's Oakchia in Marengo; excellent deer also but the turkeys were everywhere.
sure it wasn't south Sumpter Co? Your right Troy; Sumter it was. Cool old camp house there. I saw you list Dave Barr's place, used to hunt near there in Pennington for years. Killed a mess of ducks on Tikumbum (sp) creek. Almost drowned there once with 2 buddies when we swamped a boat. Had many a beer at Pier 2. Did you know Johnny Thompson? Who has Oakchia now? I don't remember that name and it has been 40 years since I was at Oakchia. That old house was very cool.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

USX land I had that bordered I-20 on the north side was as good a BIG buck killing place as any I have hunted, took several 150+ bucks off it myself and my wife killed a 153" 10 point. Didn't have a lot of deer but some BIG OLD bucks.
